Roy Mecklem Reed, 69, of Brackenridge, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born June 1, 1957, in Rochester, PA, he was the son of Grace Mecklem Reed and the late Stanley Reed. Roy a veteran of the United States Army. He served from 1974 to 1980 and was stationed in Germany, earning the rank of Sergeant. Following his Army service, Roy attended Gateway Tech and went on to dedicate many years as a Lineman for the Union Railroad. He also was a proud member of the American Legion of North East, PA. In his free time, Roy enjoyed gardening, windsurfing, skiing, motorcross racing, and relaxing in North East, PA. Above all, Roy will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his mother, Roy is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Jean Tilly Reed; children, Katelyn Jean (Jade) Reed and Michael Janus Reed; granddaughter, Evelyn Harper Reed; a grandson on the way, Gilleain; brother, Mark (Diana) Reed, of Clarkston, MI; stepmother, Patty Reed, of Palestine, OH; as well as three nephews, one niece, and numerous extended family members and friends whom he loved dearly.
