Deborah A.
Mehelic
Apr 21, 1951 — Sep 17, 2026
Deborah Ann Mehelic, 75, of Tarentum, passed away on September 17, 2026. She was born on April 21, 1951.
Deborah shared a lifetime of love and dancing with her husband of 44 years, Albert Mehelic. She worked as a medical assistant at a pediatrician's office, and in her fifties she returned to school, earning her associate's degree and graduating at the top of her class. She then worked for many years as an optician before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her daughters, Dorie and Tracy, and her son, Tony, her sisters Denise and Clara, and her brother Johnny.
She is survived by her husband, Albert; her stepdaughters, Jackie Mehelic and Djevana Mehelic; her brothers, Jim Reynolds and Jeff Reynolds; her son-in-law, Sam Borowski; and her grandchildren, Brandon and Taylor Borowski.
Deborah loved to cook and bake, and Sundays were her time - she had Brandon and Taylor over for dinner and watched the Steelers with them. She was known for her kielbasa and potatoes and her cherry chocolate cake, and she never turned down ice cream. She also followed the Pirates and cheered on Pitt football, enjoyed relaxing in her pool, and liked to sew. Her beloved pets, Pickles and Louis, were never far from her side.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and treated everyone as family. Friends of the kids became grandchildren, friends became siblings, and strangers received the love a devotion she shared with everyone.
Most of all, Deborah loved her family. No matter what happened, she would forgive - and she would love with everything she had. She will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held Friday September 25, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at Duster Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 347 East 10th Ave, Tarentum, PA 724-224-1526.. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that friends and family bring photos and cherished memories of Deborah to share. VISIT dusterfuneral.com
